FW: Call for Papers & Registration Open: Enhancing Student Learning Through Innovative Scholarship 2017

Enhancing Student Learning Through Innovative Scholarship 2017

Learning Through Collaboration

July 20-21st 2017, University of Sheffield

There is significant evidence to suggest that collaborative teaching enhances the student learning experience. Collaboration can of course take many forms and operate on many levels. From peer assisted learning approaches within (or external to) flipped classrooms, through innovation through partnership with students, to partnering with industry, to name but a few, higher education in the UK has many exemplars of excellent practice.

In this third Enhancing Student Learning Through Innovative Scholarship Conference, we welcome contributions from Teaching Focussed Academics to share their practice and experiences of collaborative teaching.

Alongside regular talks, we will also have a dedicated workshop parallel session, and welcome workshop proposals which share best practice and give participants a set of real world skills they can put into action in their own teaching. We will also have a dedicated workshop session on getting your paper published for those publishing with the area of practioner-led education for the first time.

Contributions are invited on the role of collaborative learning in the following

topics:

  • Peer to Peer Learning
  • Working with Students as Partners
  • Collaborating with internal partners to enhance learning
  • Learning through external engagement

We also welcome contributions to our standing session on the role and identity of teaching focussed academics in UK Universities.

Contributions may take the form of

  • Talks (20 mins (15 + 5 mins for questions))
  • Short Talks (5 mins)
  • Workshop (90 mins)

For further details and to submit abstract proposals see http://tinyurl.com/q8uhhx4 Call for papers closes 21st April 2017. Registration opens February 2017.
