Festival of Learning – Creating Communities

Are you doing innovative work to create communities that support and enhance learning? We would love to hear from you!

The Trent Institute of Learning and Teaching (TILT) and the Centre for Academic Development & Quality at NTU welcome contributions to the TILT Festival of Learning, from Tuesday 27 June to Thursday 29 June 2017.

Taking place across all four NTU sites, the event will showcase innovative work on the theme of Creating Communities, including but not limited to:
  • creating vibrant course communities and other learning communities
  • inclusive learning communities
  • learning in, with or from professional or disciplinary communities
  • relationships with local, national or global communities.
Tuesday 27 June will be our Annual Learning and Teaching Conference, including a range of workshops and presentations. We are delighted to be welcoming Liz Thomas, Professor of Higher Education at Edge Hill University, as our keynote speaker. She will share insights from her pioneering work on creating inclusive learning communities to improve student engagement and success.
Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 June will see alternative formal and informal events across the Confetti, Clifton and Brackenhurst NTU sites. These can include a variety of practice-sharing formats such as hands-on activities, outdoor challenges, virtual reality experiences, story-telling, and performance. We invite proposals for innovative and inspiring contributions to all parts of the Festival.
Please complete the proposal form found here and email it to ALTC@ntu.ac.uk by 27 March.
