After the success of ucisa DCG Spotlight 4 we are delighted to announce that this year's event is organised in collaboration between two ucisa special interest groups; the Digital Capabilities Group (DCG) and Digital Education Group (DEG). It will take place on 4-5 June at the Park Inn Radisson Hotel in York and bookings are open!

If you weren't at the 2018 event, don't just take our word on how useful it was.  Here's what some delegates said:

"Really enjoyed the range of perspectives on digital capabilities, and the mixture of participants from different backgrounds. The conference also had a nicely practical emphasis, with plenty to take away and follow up."

"I had a great time and look forward to attending again. It was a little out of my area of expertise…but it was so collaborative and inclusive I didn't feel out of place."

"[I most enjoyed the] peer-led parallel sessions bringing real-life insight, the conference was a great learning experience."

The theme for 2019 is Digital Capabilities: Breaking barriers, creating connections, and we are putting together a programme exploring how partnerships across different teams in post-compulsory education can benefit staff and students. We will explore how digital capabilities can help break down barriers, look at transition into and out of FE and HE, how to support students and staff with varying needs and from a wide range of backgrounds, to be inclusive for all. The programme will also include learner perspectives, preparing students to be adaptable, independent and resilient.

The programme will be of particular interest to those involved in supporting and promoting digital capabilities development, such as IT trainers, learning technologists, library and IT staff and educational developers.
