Lecture Capture: Building the Evidence Base is a mini-conference into a technology the use of which remains a contentious area for many.
The day is intended to be of interest to academics, learning technologists, academic developers, educational researchers, quality enhancement staff, student and those interested in impact on student engagement. Including speakers from York, Northampton, Liverpool John Moores, Manchester, Oxford and Loughborough it will feature time for discussion and debate.
Date: Wednesday 17 December 2015
Timing: 10am-4pm
Venue: Loughborough University campus http://www.lboro.ac.uk/about/find-us/
Cost: £50.00 to include lunch, refreshments and parking.
As many institutions are scaling up the use of Lecture Capture there has been considerable questioning among academic staff of whether the resources being invested are justified. Learning technologists are being challenged to produce evidence that lecture capture has a positive impact on learning opportunities. The event provides an opportunity to hear from those who have been undertaking monitoring and evaluation projects to share findings to date, whether they have been focused on institution-wide or small-scale studies.
Please e-mail c.f.g.shields@lboro.ac.uk for further information. We would particularly welcome delegates who have concerns or who are sceptical as to the value of LC.
Payments can be made through the Loughborough online store from November 19th. http://store.lboro.ac.uk/browse/product.asp?compid=1&modid=1&catid=308
