The WCE is an international refereed conference dedicated to the
advancement of the theory and practices in education. The WCE
promotes collaborative excellence between academicians and
professionals from Education. The aim of WCE is to provide
an opportunity for academicians and professionals from various
educational fields with cross-disciplinary interests to bridge the
knowledge gap, promote research esteem and the evolution of
pedagogy. The WCE-2013 invites research papers that encompass

HEA Research and policy seminar on Academic Integrity

 

The Higher Education Academy is hosting a free seminar/webinar on ‘Academic integrity: learning lessons and exploring tensions’.

Dr Erica Morris, Academic Lead for Assessment and Feedback and the HEAR (Higher Education Achievement Report) at the HEA will present this seminar on Tuesday 14 May.

 

Her presentation will look at the concept of academic integrity, including concerns about student plagiarism and collusion.

 

Dr Morris, who previously worked at The Open University, has recently returned from a national speaking tour for the Exemplary Academic Integrity Standards project in Australia.

 

The free event starts at 12:45 with a buffet lunch from 12:00. It is also available to watch online. Please click here to book a place on the seminar, either online or in person.

We’re writing to let you know that the full programme is now available for the Surveys for Enhancement Conference on 16 May 2013 in central Manchester. This year we have keynote presentations from William Locke, Head of Learning and Teaching at the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), and Dr Mark Langan, Senior Learning and Teaching Fellow at Manchester Metropolitan University.

 

The conference is an opportunity to discuss how student experience surveys can best be used to inform enhancements to learning and teaching practice, policy and strategy. It’s intended to be of interest to a wide audience, including senior managers with learning & teaching roles, educational developers, survey officers, student unions, academic researchers and lecturers at the chalk face.

 

The programme as a whole, which focuses on the theme of  “Satisfaction, engagement and enhancement – designing and using student surveys”, will deliver a diverse range of speakers and topics, including sessions focusing on student surveys in Ireland, Portugal and China, as well as a diverse range of approaches in the UK, including the use of engagement surveys.
