2015 Learning & Teaching Conference

Wednesday 15th April from 9:30 to 16:30, Chapman Hall, Southlands College, University of Roehampton

 

Open to all academic and academic-related staff, and PhD students with a teaching role.

 

This year's theme: Innovative and Engaging Assessment - Good Practice on Taught Programmes

 

Keynote Speaker: Dr Gwyneth Hughes, Reader in Higher Education, Institute of Education, London. Keynote lecture: “Is competition good for learning? Exploring ipsative assessment as an alternative”

 

You are warmly invited to join our debates and discussions around the topic of innovative and engaging assessments on your taught programmes. How can we enthuse and motivate our students to do their best? What are the most effective ways of using assessment to support the learning process? Are there some new ideas that could be used on any of your own programmes?

 

Our sub-themes are:

*   Designing assessments  that maximise learning pay-off

*   Formative and summative assessments – strategies for success

*   Giving effective feedback to learners
