FW: Conference event in Sheffield

The SpLD Society at the University of Sheffield would like to invite you to their first ever debate/conference on SpLDs. David Blunkett will be opening the event.

The conference will take the form of a debate, very similar to that of Question Time, with some controversial figures on the panel (for example, Professor Julian Elliot who wrote 'The Dyslexia Debate' and Professor Dennis Hayes).
Other panel members include Professor Rod Nicholson, Cathereine Wright (Dyslexia Action), author Margaret Rooke ('Creative, Successful, Dyslexic'), MP Emma Lewell-Buck and Peter Walsh (UK Social Policy PhD).

It's probably going to be a pretty lively event with all the changes that are going on with policy, funding and some of the debates about dyslexia at the moment. As such, there is an opportunity for all delegates to submit a question when booking onto the event. In the weeks leading up the event, questions will be selected and presented to the panel, so you may get an opportunity to get your question asked.

It's on February 9th, 6:30-9:30pm, and only costs £8 (£6 students).
Please feel free to pass this link onto any other interested parties. It's going to be quite a big event (nearly 400 places) and is likely to be covered by the press.
