FW: Annual University of Glasgow Learning and Teaching Conference

Dear colleagues

Annual University of Glasgow Learning and Teaching Conference: Tuesday 12th April 2016:

'Active student participation in learning, teaching and assessment'

I am pleased to invite colleagues from across the higher education community to register for the 9th Annual University of Glasgow Learning and Teaching conference. This year’s conference has a wide range of speakers, including Keynote presentations from Professor Peter Felten, Elon University, North Carolina and Dr Tansy Jessop, University of Winchester, and I would encourage anyone with an interest in learning, teaching and assessment to book their place.

The Conference aims to stimulate discussion and debate about teaching, learning and assessment and is a key opportunity for colleagues from across the higher education community to come together to share experiences and learn about the innovative and exemplary work being undertaken here at Glasgow and in the wider HE community. As in previous years, it is anticipated that external delegates will bring other perspectives to our work, share thoughts and concepts and, we hope, leave the Conference with a renewed sense of creativity and inspiration.

Registration:

The programme, together with abstracts and the web booking form can be found at:

Throughout the day, in addition to presentations, posters and stands, I am delighted that delegates will have the opportunity to learn more about plans for the new University of Glasgow Learning and Teaching Hub and to explore technology enhanced active learning spaces planned for it.

Immediately following submission of your registration form, you will receive an e-mail note of the sessions you have booked into.  Please read this carefully and direct any queries to Fiona Bell: Fiona.Bell@glasgow.ac.uk; telephone 0141 330 3370.

Payment:

The delegate rate for the Conference is £95.00.

It is important to note that your booking will not be confirmed until we have received your payment; the deadline for receipt of payments is Wednesday 6th April 2016.  If payment has not been received by that date, you will be deemed to have withdrawn your booking.

Payment can be made either by cheque or by purchase order and should be sent to Pauline Kennedy at the Learning and Teaching Centre, Southpark House, 64 Southpark Avenue, Glasgow G12 8LB.  Unfortunately we are, at present, unable to accept online payments.

Please note that registration will close on Monday 14th March 2016 and that any questions about the Conference should be directed to Fiona Bell in the first instance.

Best wishes

Frank Coton
