Nottingham Trent University is hosting the first UK conference on SCALE-UP (Student-Centred Active Learning Environment with Upside-down Pedagogies) on 12 Sept, 2014.
This conference will primarily be of interest to colleagues with an interest in technology-enabled approaches to active learning, such as SCALE-UP and TEAL. It may also be relevant to those using other flipped learning and/or enquiry-based learning approaches.
The keynote speaker is SCALE-UP originator, Professor Robert Beichner, North Carolina State University.Session topics will include: the implementation of SCALE-UP; using technology-rich experimental learning spaces; effective team-based learning; and engaging students with preparation and class activities.
