Building Confident Engineers Workshop

Tuesday 10 September 2013.

 IET Austin Court, Birmingham

Successful engineering graduates require confidence in order to solve new problems, work with colleagues and excel in their careers. It has also been identified that confident engineering graduates are more likely to pursue careers in engineering.  Confidence can also be used to address diversity issues, particularly the gender imbalance within the discipline.

This workshop has been developed to consider how academics can enable engineering students to develop confidence through teaching, learning and assessment.  In addition, the sessions have been designed to align with the relevant National Student Survey (NSS) questions.

There will be an industrial guest speaker and an engineering leadership facilitator with expertise in confidence building techniques.

This is a free one day event for subscribing institutions and has a cost of £75 for non-subscribing institutions. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
