Welcome to the HEA STEM Newsletter for mid-January.  Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about the following events aimed at academics and post-graduate students in STEM disciplines.

 

HEA STEM: Annual Learning and Teaching Conference 2013: Where practice and pedagogy meet

Date: 17 Apr 2013 - 18 Apr 2013

Location/venue: University of Birmingham

Higher education has changed dramatically over the past ten years with advances in technology, the changing expectations of students, growing diversity and the increasing variety of higher education institutions. This conference aims to disseminate evidence based, effective practice and to examine how this impacts on STEM disciplines.

 

HEA STEM (Engineering): Workshop for postgraduate students who teach

Date: 15 Feb 2013

Start Time: 11:00 am

Location/venue: UCL Engineering, London

The day will focus on four areas: Assessment and Feedback, Teaching for Diversity, Small Group Teaching, & Professional Development and the HEA.

 

ITiCSE 2013, the 18th Annual Conference on Innovation and Technology in Computer Science Education (sponsored by ACM SIGCSE)

Date: 1 and 3 July 2013

Location/venue University of Kent at Canterbury

The deadline for submission of posters and Tips, techniques & courseware session proposals is March 15 2013.

 

Foundation Year Network Annual Conference 2013

Date: 11 and 12 July 2013

Location/venue: Collingwood College, Durham University

Deadline for submission of proposals is the 21 March 2013. Applicants will be advised in early April if their request has been successful.
