Dear colleagues Free places are available for a workshop on 24th January 2013 at the University of Bath, 10.00 to 16.00, funded by the National HE STEM Programme. The workshop 'Giving students effective feedback and empowering students' peer assessment' focuses on writing in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) disciplines. This practical workshop will be led by two leaders in the field: Paul Orsmond, author of the Higher Education Academy's Self- and Peer-Assessment: Guidance on Practice in the Biosciences (1st and 2nd editions); and Teresa McConlogue, formerly of Thinking Writing at Queen Mary, University of London, now of University College London, who has led influential projects on writing in STEM disciplines. Further details about the workshop are in the attached flyer. Attendance is free, and refreshments and a buffet lunch are provided, but numbers are limited. Places are allocated on a 'first come, first served' basis. To register go to https://www.survey.bath.ac.uk/stemwritingworkshop24jan2013 In early January additional information will be made available to registered attendees. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you in January.
